Where can I go for shopping?
The finest selection of exclusive shopping is located footsteps away from the Royal islander Club, the Maho Village. An array of shops and boutiques found there offer famous-name perfumes, crystal, china, jewelry and designer fashions — all selling for substantially less than in the United States.

A shopper’s paradise can be found on Front Street in Philipsburg, the Dutch side’s capital. Known for its duty-free values, Philipsburg offers decent prices on cameras, electronics, crystal, china, jewelry, watches, designer fashions, leather, perfumes, cosmetics, tobacco products, imported wine and spirits, linens, flatware and Dutch imports such as Delft china, cheeses and beer.

On the French side, visit the capital city of Marigot for designer shopping in a Caribbean atmosphere.

Are there any grocery stores nearby?

The Food Express located at the entrance of the Royal islander Club has a wide selections of products you are accustomed to make you feel right at home. Local grocery stores will come in handy if your hotel room has a small refrigerator or kitchen. And if you are looking for interesting gifts, such as exotic sauces, or cheeses and chocolates, you will find some great buys.

Unlike many shops, grocery stores list prices in Guilders and Euros only, so you have to do a little arithmetic to figure out the value of your purchases. If you tell the cashier you wish to pay in Dollars, the Cash register will do the conversion for you.
